Regardless of what her personal life has been said, given the condition that I do not know and I do not want to know, she has my support. She's got great talent for her voice. She sings like a bird. She is very pretty, charming and sexy. Talking about sexy. When Heng Bun Leap was here, women went nuts waiting for pictures. He is handsome, friendly and sexiest man alive as ladies put it!

I'm sorry to say something I know people there dont want to listen.

Why are people so excited about actresses or actors or even singers so much?
The explanation from that would be "Oh, we like our art, our culture and our people."

Once one Cambodian female anchor migrated to Australia, Cambodian-Australians started to come around her and admired her job so much...but do you know how much she earned as an anchor? Perhaps, people thought that working in a TV or radio station or even working as a singer/actor/actress earns a lot of money...

Actually, I don't feel bad about people there loving the Cambodian stars...but don't they know what has happened in the circle of this job right here in their motherland (Cambodia)?

Sorry to turn this into an unpleasant topic...

Kounila,

There is nothing unpleasant to say here, and there is nothing to be sorry about. Remember your quote, "Be who you are and say what you feel..." I am very pleased for any comment that you or anybody who posts it here. It’s better to something than to say nothing.

Khmer people are excited about Khmer singers, actors or actresses because in America people work hard. They have busy life. And rarely do they have a chance to physically meet them. So when there is a party with Khmer singers from Camboida, for example, Meas Sok Sophea or Preap Sovat, we want to enjoy our time being there with them.

Unlike our culture, Americans (I am not sure if it’s a tradition or not for the American people) tend to place value or pay more attention on movie stars, singers and sports athletes because their talents and skills. For instance, the American Idol, football, basketball, baseball. Teenage kids probably adults too know who Britney Spears is when asked, but they may not be sure who the current president of the United States is.

In addition, if you are a high school teacher here, you probably make between $50,000 -$70,000 a year. Now, if you are a football or a baseball player, you could make from one to five million dollars annually or more (money defines success?). Ask Kalyan to back up my claim.

Maybe for this reason, we are very excited to see our own Khmer stars.
